FMCSP preliminary eligibility check

A prospective international student completing an online preliminary questionnaire with an education adviser.

Preliminary screen only: This questionnaire provides general educational information based on the answers you select. It is not legal or immigration advice, does not determine eligibility, and does not guarantee admission, a study permit, permanent residence, or any other result. IRCC and participating institutions make their own decisions under the rules in effect when you apply.

Self Assessment

If any of questions 1–8 is No: “Your answers indicate that one or more current FMCSP requirements may not be met. Rules and facts can change. Review the official IRCC requirements and consider the regular study-permit process where appropriate.”

If questions 1–8 are all Yes: “Your answers appear consistent with several preliminary FMCSP requirements, but this is not an eligibility decision. Admission, documentation, admissibility, program details, available spaces or caps, and current IRCC rules still require verification.”

If your answer to question 9 is Yes: Contact us for a no-fee, no-obligation assessment.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Are you a citizen of a country currently listed by IRCC as eligible for the FMCSP?
  2. Will you be living outside Canada when you submit the study-permit application?
  3. Do you have, or are you seeking, admission from an institution on IRCC’s participating-DLI list?
  4. Is the intended program full-time and post-secondary?
  5. Is the intended program at least two years long and does it lead to a degree or diploma?
  6. Will more than 50% of the program’s classes be taught in French?
  7. Can you provide an approved French-language result showing NCLC 5 or higher in all four abilities?
  8. Can you demonstrate tuition and the applicable living expenses for yourself and any accompanying family members?
  9. Would you like DACC to review your answers and help identify next steps?
